Made by BioBag®, these fantastic dog bags are fully biodegradable and compostable. They are made from renewable agricultural materials (such as certified non-genetically modified starch) and are an excellent way to reduce your consumption of plastic bags!

Did you know?

  • Australians use approximately 4 billion plastic bags a year, or 10 million new bags each day (Source: Clean Up Australia, Plastic Bag Fact Sheet, 2010).
  • Plastic kills up to 1 million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals each year (Source: Clean Up Australia, Plastic Bag Fact Sheet).

Size:

  • 32 (l) x 20 (w) cm - 50 bags per box

Key Features

  • Certified as fully biodegradable and compostable
  • Composts within 10 to 45 days, depending on compost method used
  • BioBags have a high penetration barrier against bacteria, viruses & mould
  • The bags are highly breathable - minimising offensive odours & ensuring better hygiene
  • Packaged in a recyclable cardboard box

Materials Used:

  • BioBags are made from the raw material Mater-BiTM, which contains renewable resources (such as non-genetically modified starch derived from corn or potato), biodegradable polyester (mainly derived from non-GMO vegetable oils) & natural plasticisers (made from non-GMO vegetable oils, free from Phthalates).
  • The box is made from recycled paper & printed with soy-based inks.

Certifications:

  • BioBags are certified 100% biodegradable and compostable by OK Compost, Din Certco, according to the European Norm 13432 and B.P.I. for North America ASTMD 6400.  BioBags comply with the Australia Standard AS4736.
  • In Australia, BioBags have also been approved as an input to organic agriculture by the Biological Farmers of Australia (BFA) Association.

Eco Tips:

BioBags in the environment:

  • BioBags will biodegrade in any environment containing bacteria - whether a compost heap, the soil or the sea.
  • Because the BioBag is heavier than water, the bag will sink from the surface and biodegrade at the bottom of the sea, river or lake. It does not eliminate the hazard for marine wildlife, but significantly reduces it.

Recycling:

  • Place the cardboard box into a paper recycling bin once you have finished.
